Owen Piatt of North Carolina, who was already quite excellent when I met him at age 11, at a Colorado Banjo Camp. Here he is at age 13, same year he moved with his family to Nashville.

Dear Pete,

The guest performance at University of Nevada Reno was better than we could have hoped!! We had rehearsed A LOT and it really paid off...our harmonies were tight and smooth and the choreography of working our one (omnidirectional ) microphone was fun and a delight to the audience. We rented tuxedos and the two ladies (my wife Laura and our fiddle player) wore beautiful dresses. My picking felt (for the most part) strong and solid.....it was a magic night! Here's a photo ( my wife is singing Angelina Baker in the center and you can see me and my Stelling on the left)
