Camp Status Update

Boomer Jam Camp is confirmed as planned. We will be a small group and spread between the several buildings at Camp Harrison. As usual when weather permits, we'll be outdoors much of the time. Everyone will be on their best hygiene behavior and we will be very active in hand washing and other strategies. Anyone who feels even slightly unwell of course will need to stay home.

Otherwise please sign up and join us. We’re gauging things as they unfold and we’ll adjust as necessary according to authorities, but for now . . . Prepare for fun!

** A Special Two-Track Camp This Year!

Due to the cancellation of this year's annual Intermediate/Advanced Bluegrass Camp at Boomer, this year's Jam Camp has been expanded in scope to accommodate students from that camp. This year, this Jam Camp will have two tracks: one for entry level and one for intermediate/advanced students. Basic students will get the full Wernick Method curriculum as originally planned. The Advanced section will launch into new and exciting challenges designed to deepen your understanding and improve your jam skills. We’ll introduce new insights and dynamics that make for better jamming.

Monday - Thursday at the beautiful and spacious grounds of the Camp Harrison YMCA at Herring Ridge, 10 miles outside of Wilkesboro, NC. Lodging and meal packages available directly from Camp Harrison. See the Onsite accommodations and meal info.

How you qualify

It's easier than you may think!

If you play guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, bass, or resonator guitar you can be part of a bluegrass jam.

Only requirements: You must be able to tune your instrument (electronic tuning devices welcome) and change smoothly between G, C, D, and A. Fast playing is not expected, nor is the ability to solo required.
